Here we have a Breitling Navitimer Ref. 806 1959 Re-Edition AB0910371B1X1 limited to 1959 pieces, Breitling has worked closely with watch collector Fred Mandelbaum, who may have the largest collection of vintage Breitlings in the world. It has a 41mm polished and brushed stainless steel case, beveled lugs with a length between lugs of 48.5mm and a thickness of 13.5mm ensuring a comfortable fit on your wrist, These dimensions are faithful to the original. On the right side, the chronograph piston pusher and screw-down crown are signed. Highly domed acrylic crystal sits above the black dial, the black dial has an external two-way rotating logarithmic slide rule navigation computer that makes complex mathematical calculations useful for pilots, you can can measure a lot of things like gas consumption, kilometers per minute, ground speed, descent/ascent speed, disembarkation/ascent distance and nautical mile/mile conversions. Aged Super-LumiNova coated Arabic numerals mark the hours and three recessed registers add dimension to the dial, at 3 o’clock for the 30-minute register, at 6 o’clock for the 12-hour register and finally at 9 o’clock a continuous 60 second registration. The long hands are coated with aged Super-LumiNova, complemented by tapered chronograph hands. The signature applied Breitling wings are located at the 12 o’clock position, the “Navitimer” text is precisely executed. On the back, there is a screw-down cover engraved with the year 1959. Inside the manually wound Breitling Cal. B09, 47 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour, column-wheel chronograph movement with vertical clutch, this COSC-certified caliber is based on the iconic Breitling Caliber 01 and has been developed specifically for the This historical re-enactment.
